A part-funded two-year partnership between Loughborough University and REPL International has allowed the company to establish itself as a global leader in the manufacture of cable products for electricity utilities.

The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) – which received 67% funding from Innovate UK – allowed experts from the University’s Department of Materials to help REPL develop its in-house R&D around polymeric formulations and enhance its manufacturing capability.

REPL is now considered an innovative supplier to the global power utilities market, providing its customers with significantly advanced products. What’s more, its in-house R&D team are better equipped to support on-going and future developments.

Graham Gardner – REPL’s Director of Sales and Marketing – summed up the KTP’s success: “The project has helped us to increase our financial results, introduce new products, improve the REPL brand and make us a stronger company technically.”
